Imagine your family sitting on the deck overlooking the pond, meadow & watching the French Broad River flow by. Otter cabin has carport parking, easy entry, central heat & air, and a washer/dryer. The large back porch offers additional outdoor seating, a dining table, & chairs with stunning views. Inside is a king room, bedroom with two queens and a queen sleeper sofa in the den. Large living room offers plenty of seating with sectional sofa, a brick gas fireplace, upgraded kitchen with granite tops and dining room. Full bathroom has shower/tub and washer/dryer. Enjoy your own private fire pit right outside the front door while roasting s’mores & catching up. Bring the kids and make some fun family memories that last a lifetime!

Property amenities included for free with your stay: Miles of hiking trails from easy along the French Broad River to moderate trails leading to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. Water activities including jumping in the Swimming Hole filled by mountain spring water, kayaking in the lake and fishing (bring your own gear). Find relaxation in the Bamboo Forest and laying in the hammocks. Explore all 175 acres and find the hidden Fish Camp, the Observation Tower and watch for wildlife passing through.

Rate: Ranges from $250-$450 (holiday rates may be additional). Select your dates to receive a quote for your stay.

Additional details:
Heating/Cooling: Otter Cabin is equipped with Central A/C & Heat, and two gas fireplaces.
Kitchen: Full size appliances, refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, a microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, and drip coffee maker (with filters, creamer & sweetener packets). Dishes, silverware, cups, mugs, bakeware, cookware, mixer, blender, crockpot and basic kitchen utensils & supplies provided.
Linens provided: Sheets, bath towels, swim towels, extra blankets.
Starter Supplies: Soap, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, laundry detergent, trash bags, paper towels & toilet paper.
Other: Washer/dryer. Closets in each bedroom with hangers. Iron & hairdryer. TV with Dish Network service. WiFi.
Outdoors: Your cabin has a picnic table & charcoal grill (you'll need charcoal) in the front yard, and a fire pit with chairs. Firewood is supplied.
Also enjoy a large covered patio with sofa & chairs, and a dining table & chairs.
Otter Cabin is pet-friendly, just bring your pet's supplies.

Cancellations between 7-30 days prior to arrival date: 50% refundable + 100% of the cleaning fee. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival date: NON-REFUNDABLE, except for cleaning fee.

MEDIUM GROUP CABIN RENTAL (2-5 cabins): Cancellations more than 60 days prior to arrival date: 100% refundable, minus 3.5% processing fee. Cancellations between 30-60 days prior to arrival date: 50% refundable + 100% of the cleaning fees. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival date: NON-REFUNDABLE, except for cleaning fees.

LARGE GROUP CABIN RENTAL (6-11 cabins): Cancellations more than 90 days prior to arrival date: 100% refundable, minus 3.5% processing fee. Cancellations between 60-90 days prior to arrival date: 50% refundable + 100% of the cleaning fees. Cancellations within 60 days of arrival date: NON-REFUNDABLE, except for cleaning fees.

WHOLE PROPERTY RENTAL INCLUDING THEY MAYES EVENT CENTER: Cancellations more than 180 days prior to arrival date: All deposits paid to date are NON-REFUNDABLE. Cancellations within 180 days of arrival date: NON-REFUNDABLE, except for cleaning fees.

Quiet and peaceful place to relax and still close to town. Great covered porch, it rained while we were there and it was nice to still be able to sit outside and enjoy the sound!

The cabins at Deerwood and the property in general is magical! The Otter cabin is very comfortable, clean and inviting. The property is stunning, I particularly love the bamboo forest and all the ponds and that they allow dogs! I absolutely loved walking the grounds and trails with my dog, especially through the zen like bamboo forest!

We loved staying here! The fall colors were amazing, the house was clean and comfortable. Loved the fireplace! Host was very friendly and accessible! We were honestly so sad to leave. We hope to be back again!

Had the best time at the Otter Cabin! The kids loved swimming in the pond, kayaking, canoeing, walking the trails and discovering the fishing camp and hidden benches along the way. The entire place was beautiful and well maintained. We will definitely be back this fall!

Excellent and Very Well Done

The cabin was excellent and very well done. The cabin sits on a huge property with a few other cabins scattered about. The cabin itself was the perfect size for our family of four and could’ve easily accommodated six guests. The property is amazing, and I only wish we had more time to explore. Tons of trails, a few ponds and the river are all easily accessible. We met owners Tim and Scott during our stay, and both were friendly and out of their way helpful. We will definitely be back when visiting the Brevard/Pisgah area.

Only Regret is Not Staying Longer

Perfect place for a getaway! We stayed here for a long weekend and our only regret is not staying longer. The cabin is tastefully decorated and my girlfriend loved how cozy it felt. The beds are super comfortable and so is the couch. Fireplace makes for a nice night in. There is plenty of space for a group of people although it was only the 2 of us. Perfect location. A quick drive into restaurants and not far from Pisgah or DuPont. You feel as though you’re in the country which we both loved but you’re super close to everything. We will return for sure!

Can’t Recommend This Place Enough

This place is AMAZING and was the perfect cabin for our family. The grounds are incredibly peaceful and just perfect. Walk the trails, fish in a canoe in a pond, chill on the dock and even see some wild deer! We travel to Brevard regularly and this was by far our favorite place. We highly recommend it in every way! The owners are so friendly and helpful. And it’s in the perfect location too. Can’t not recommend this place enough!! We will definitely be back.
