Coyote Lodge is the largest and most grand cabin on the Deerwoode Reserve property. Soaring two stories tall, Coyote Lodge has great room, with an impressive stacked-stone wood-burning fireplace adorned by original wooden canoes from when this property operated as a summer camp in the 1930s. The living room, dining area, and kitchen share the open floor plan in the center of the cabin. There's plenty of room to gather around the fireplace on new comfy leather sofas and chairs with ottomans.
This is the perfect cabin for large or multi-family get togethers with so much room to spread out. There are four private bedrooms, two upstairs and two downstairs, each have their own private bathroom. Kitchen remodeled with reclaimed wood from original camp cabins, new granite top, and complete with full-size oven/range, (2) side by side refrigerators with ice/water, dishwasher, toaster, Keurig & drip coffee pot, and microwave. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, bakeware, dishes, silverware, cups, utensils, gadgets, and spices. You'll also find small appliances like an electric griddle, crockpot, blender and mixer. A custom wood bar top and four picnic-style tables offer plenty of seating. The wrap-around balcony upstairs, overlooks the great room and provides additional gathering and quiet spaces for card games or reading. With so many spots to sit, relax, talk, play games, read a book, catch up, you'll find space to have both family time and quiet time.
Living room has one TV, two gas furnaces and two A/C and Heat units. All four bedrooms have a TV, and are equipped with new A/C and Heat units. The Deer Room has two queen beds and bunk beds (sleeps 6), while the other three rooms – Bull, Panther, and Fox – each have a king bed and bunk bed (each sleeps 4). There is a half bath & laundry room adjacent to the living room. All four bedrooms have a private bathroom attached.
Spend time relaxing on the porch swings and rocking chairs on the front covered porch. Second-story rooms also have balcony access. Views of the ponds and meadow with trees and mountains in the background provide a breathtaking, natural setting where you may find some wildlife passing through. Outside has lawn space for games, a private charcoal grill (charcoal not provided), and 3 picnic tables perfect for a cookout. Close to the Swimming Hole, walking trails, and the big lake for fishing and kayaking. Gather around the large community fire pit (firewood provided) for some storytelling and making s'mores. Property amenities included for free with your stay: Miles of hiking trails from easy along the French Broad River to moderate trails leading to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. Water activities including jumping in the Swimming Hole filled by mountain spring water, kayaking in the lake and fishing (bring your own gear). Find relaxation in the Bamboo Forest and laying in the hammocks. Explore all 175 acres and find the hidden Fish Camp, the Observation Tower and watch for wildlife passing through.
