Now that it’s October… what are your plans for the holidays? We know, we know fall just started. But this busy season always flies by and before you know it, you need to figure out Thanksgiving, Christmas, and end of year plans.
Here’s some ideas to make planning holiday gatherings easier:
Ideas for Companies:
- Hold an end of year appreciation dinner for all of your employees with any caterer you like. Add on one of our bar packages and allow your employees to relax and enjoy the evening. Include awards to recognize outstanding work and achievements or bring in live music to entertain everyone!
- Host a multi-day retreat for your team or managers. Stay in cabins, and bond over hikes, yard games, roasting s’mores, and team building activities. Your employees will enjoy the balanced mix of vacation, adventure, growth as a team, and appreciation shown.
- Invite your team out to a holiday luncheon in the Mayes Event Center. Have a buffet lunch from your favorite local caterer. Plan a fun gift exchange game like White Elephant or Secret Santa that is guaranteed to make everyone smile.
Ideas for Families:
- For large families near Brevard, use our Mayes Event Center as a big, open space for everyone to gather for a meal, reunion, and/or activities. When no one’s house is large enough to host all of the extended family and friends, reserve our event venue for the day!
- For large families spread out across the country, you can come together in a large cabin at Deerwoode for Christmas or New Years. Everyone can drive into town or fly into nearby Asheville Regional Airport to gather for a whole week or a long weekend. Our largest cabins can have 8-18 guests, or book multiple cabins if you need more space.
- For families looking for something fun to do, stay in a cabin during Festival of Lights weekend, December 10th – 13th. Be surrounded by the sparkling lights, participate in family friendly activities, and enjoy yummy snacks every evening. You will feel like you’re in your favorite cozy holiday stories!
