Frequently Asked Questions About Events at Deerwoode Reserve

Brevard, North Carolina — in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains

What types of events can we host at Deerwoode Reserve?

We host weddings, elopements, corporate and wellness retreats, family reunions, milestone celebrations, and private concerts. Our venues range from an intimate lodge to a large, versatile event center.

What are the capacities of your event spaces?

The Mayes Event Center accommodates up to ~200 seated or ~400 concert style. Coyote Lodge is ideal for intimate gatherings of up to ~18. Full-property configurations can host larger outdoor events; contact us for layout options and guest flow planning.

Do you offer on-site lodging for guests?

Yes. Our collection of rustic-modern cabins can lodge multi-day groups. Many wedding parties and retreat groups book a selection of cabins so key guests can stay on property.

Is there a rain plan or indoor backup space?

Yes. The Mayes Event Center includes a climate-controlled hall and a covered open-air pavilion, providing flexible indoor and covered options if the weather changes.

Can we bring our own vendors (caterer, planner, florist, photographer)?

Absolutely. You may bring your preferred vendors. We also maintain a curated local vendor list familiar with the property to simplify planning.

Do you provide catering or a kitchen?

We partner with local caterers and offer a convenient catering prep kitchen at the Mayes Event Center for staging and service.

Is alcohol permitted at events?

Yes, with proper licensing and insured bartending services in accordance with local regulations. We can recommend compliant vendors.

What rentals or amenities are included?

Core venue rental includes access to the booked space(s), standard venue lighting, restrooms, and parking areas. Tables, chairs, linens, décor, and AV can be added through preferred vendors if not included in your package.

What are the décor or open-flame restrictions?

To protect the grounds and buildings, we allow most décor that does not damage surfaces. Open flame is limited to enclosed candles in designated areas; no confetti or non-biodegradable toss items. Ask us about sparkler policies.

Do you provide AV, sound, or lighting?

We can facilitate AV and lighting through trusted rental partners. Many bands and DJs bring their own systems; we will coordinate load-in, power, and placement.

What are the quiet hours and noise policies?

We observe local noise ordinances and property quiet hours out of respect for our natural setting and lodging guests. Your event coordinator will help plan timelines that fit these guidelines.

Is the venue accessible and what about parking or shuttles?

Key event areas feature accessible paths and restrooms. On-site parking is available; for larger guest counts, we can help arrange shuttle services to streamline arrivals and departures.

Are pets allowed?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at outdoor ceremonies and photo sessions in designated areas, with prior approval and leash requirements. Some lodging units are dog-friendly — ask for availability.

How do we schedule a tour, check dates, or reserve?

Contact our team to schedule a private tour and confirm availability. A signed agreement and retainer are required to secure your date.

What are the payment schedule, insurance, and cancellation terms?

Standard terms include a retainer at booking and milestone payments leading up to the event. Event liability insurance is required. Cancellation and rescheduling policies are outlined in your agreement.
