Welcome to Season Two of Deerwoode!
It’s been a race to the finish line as we prepare for the opening of our second season – which officially begins April 1st – and we couldn’t be more excited to share all the enhancements we’ve been working on to elevate our guest experience!
We enjoy meeting our guests and hearing about their time here, whether it’s exploring the property, visiting nearby places, finding great restaurants or how they’re making lasting memories with their families and friends. We are proud to offer such a unique vacation destination that gives our guests a chance to step back in time staying in a cozy but well-appointed cabin surrounded by pristine natural beauty, offering fun nature amenities on-site with so many ways to slow down, reconnect and just spend quality time together.
We strive to provide the best family vacation experience and have been working hard all winter on special enhancements and upgrades that we’re sure you’re going to love. As we look forward to welcoming our guests this year, we sure hope to see some new faces along with returning ones from prior years.
Here’s to the start of a wonderful Season Two at Deerwoode!
Warmest Regards,
Scott & Dionne Hodgson

It’s been a busy winter around the Deewoode Reserve property. From projects around the property to give guests a greater appreciation of the spectacular views to more fun activities and cabin comfortability upgrades, it’s safe to say we’ve kept our hands full. We continue to renovate the existing cabins and now offer 10 different cabin accommodations available to rent, all ranging in size from studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom and our four-bedroom Coyote Lodge. Cabins may be rented separately or for large groups, so please feel free to inquire about renting the entire property.
The Swimming Hole is Now Open!
This historic spot has been the center of fun for kids attending summer camp here for decades. Past campers would jump, swim, canoe and even slide and zipline into the lake. It’s been empty the last couple of years due to structural issues, but now that we have fixed the rock wall, it’s being spring-fed and filled up to enjoy once again. There’s truly nothing better than a cool dip in the water on those hot, sunny days. We sure hope our guests will enjoy playing in the water while surrounded by this beautiful mountain scenery.
New Kitchenettes for Wolf and Bear Cabins
These cabins may be small in size, but they are huge on history, charm and coziness. Both cabins feature stone fireplaces that were originally constructed in the summer camp cabins. They were built from reclaimed cabin wood and flooring, giving them a rustic feel. If only those walls could tell us all the stories of the camp kids and the transformation of the land around us. Wolf and Bear Cabins now have upgraded kitchenette areas with new cabinets, countertops and toaster ovens to provide more storage, organization and convenience for our guests.
Kayaks are here!
The big lake was feeling a bit left out, so we’ve bought some new kayaks to add to our available on-site water activities. Our guests can use the kayaks, canoes and life vests as a complimentary amenity while staying in our cabins. Take a paddle around the lake and see who can go the fastest! Enjoy a leisurely float while fishing or venture out to the island in the middle of the lake. No matter what you’ve got planned, we hope you have a great time with the new kayaks!
Little Log Cabin & Barn Cabin: Now taking reservations!
Our inventory of larger cabins keeps on growing. Vacationing with your family and having enough room for the kids to spread out is important. We want all of our couples and families to have comfortable spaces to hang out. This year, we have two three-bedroom cabins available and can’t wait for you to check them out.
Both cabins offer a rustic cabin setting mixing old features and new fixtures, complete with all the modern conveniences your family could possibly want. Enjoy the outdoors the right way with private firepits, a charcoal grill and nearby picnic table. Be sure to check out the photos and virtual tours on our website!
Little Log Cabin
Little Log Cabin is an actual log cabin built in the 1970s that’s been completely redone with all the modern features. The top floor is an open floor plan with new kitchen cabinets, granite tops and stainless steel appliances. The living room offers a cozy leather sectional and old wood-burning stove. Downstairs has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and washer/dryer. Our favorite spot is sitting on the porch swing on the large deck looking out into the tranquil natural scenery.
Barn Cabin
Barn Cabin has transformed from a one-bedroom to a three-bedroom cabin with the completion of the basement area. Upstairs, we’ve refreshed the living area and master bedroom, alongside updates to the kitchen as well. There’s a laundry room upstairs and a recently-added spiral staircase to connect the basement area. Two bedrooms, a bathroom and a den were added downstairs. Barn Cabin has a very private setting being located at the end of the road near the back of the property. Views of the old barn, the big lake and the grove of poplar trees are so peaceful to experience in person.
What’s the WIFI Password?
This is probably the most asked question around here: What’s the WIFI password? And now we don’t have to say there is no WIFI, because, drumroll please….. WIFI is NOW available in all of our cabins, free and high-speed! Now you can stay connected while on vacation, or – if you choose to disconnect from your busy life – we certainly won’t tell anyone. It’ll be our little secret!
